what i like about these ideas - that I think will stick with me hard - is that you describe being interested in things almost no one else is interested in, not as a measure of societal benefit (though it may or may not be), but as a measure of individual or personal sanctity, of our own agency.
This year I figured out that I’m _deeply_ interested in occultism, hermeticism, alchemy, as well as Gnosticism and studies of Christianity for FUN. And today I’m listening to a like, satanic dream-pop group and love them.
I’m the only person posting about books I like on forums a lot of the time and don’t know anyone who likes the same stuff as me but it doesn’t stop me from continuing to delve into it whole-heartedly cause I finally figured out what I like. And that’s awesome.
Also, that album you bought sounds incredible. I like to collect weird vinyls so I get the desire to get the obscure special release stuff lol.
