There’s no story today. After six months of weekly posts, I’ve found the response to be muted and my own personal satisfaction with the work declining – so I’m switching to a bi-monthly schedule, instead: one piece for everyone on the 1st of the month, and a second, just for paying subscribers, on the 15th. I understand this might be disappointing to some of you, but I think the trade-off is worth it; it should give me more time to produce longer, more well-developed work, and also to work more on side projects, including the sort of critical writing I know some of you subscribed for. There might be less “content” overall, but it will be of a generally higher grade – and isn’t that how it should be? You can judge for yourself, of course, when the first piece is posted on the 1st.
